November is National Adoption Month! Catholic Charities has been part of the adoption story for over 100 years in Northeast Wisconsin, a foundational mission since the beginning of Catholic Charities. We led efforts across the county in the 1970’s, sharing the benefits of open adoption, a practice we still believe is most beneficial for those impacted by adoption: birthparents, adoptees, and adoptive parents.
We offer pregnancy and parenting support services; comprehensive support for those parenting or those considering placing their child for adoption. For those considering growing their family through adoption, we offer a variety of adoption services for domestic and intercountry adoption.
For all that are receiving services at Catholic Charities, our mission is to walk alongside men and women in their journey, offering compassionate, responsive, and respectful services.
We understand that adoption is a lifelong process and journey and we are here to support those impacted by adoption. One way we do this is by offering free lifelong birthparent support for those that have placed a child for adoption through Catholic Charities. We are here for you now and into the future.
In addition, to celebrating those touched by adoption this month, we recognize that there are still couples that are waiting to expand their family through adoption. We currently have 7 couples who ready, waiting, and approved for adoption. One of the most helpful things you can do is share our Facebook posts and website about our waiting families and the adoption and pregnancy support services we offer here at Catholic Charities. One never knows where connections between an expectant parent and waiting adoptive parents may happen, especially when in the hearts, minds, and prayers of so many.
