Debra began her career in mental health after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in creative writing/sociology from the University of New Mexico- Albuquerque, and an Master of Education in guidance and counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
She is an LCSW with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field working in community mental health, intensive day treatment, psychiatric inpatient, and general outpatient therapy. She enjoys working with a diverse range of clients and presenting problems including, grief, depression, anxiety, life transitions, work issues, relationship concerns, aging, stress management, and LGBTQ issues. She has experience working with both perpetrators and survivors of intimate partner violence.
Debra believes strongly that clients dictate their own recovery and she works closely with them to develop a plan of action based on their personal strengths and needs. She strives to provide a non-judgmental and caring presence.
