Donna has personal lived experience with Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health Challenges. Donna’s Recovery is faith-based, but she believes in all pathways to recovery.
Donna is excited to work for a faith-based organization where she can continue to spread love and kindness to others who are struggling. Donna uses her lived experience to help others on their recovery journey. Working at Catholic Charities gives Donna the opportunity to help others on a pathway to Recovery, but also a pathway to Jesus Christ. God has moved mountains in Donna’s life and she uses that to bring hope to others who are lost.
Peer Support is a person-centered relationship that promotes recovery, wellness, and hope through connection with a trained Peer Support Specialist who is also living a recovery lifestyle.
Drawing from both specialized training and personal lived experience with mental health challenges and/or substance use recovery, Peer Support Specialists provide empowerment and practical guidance. They demonstrate that recovery and wellness goals are achievable and support individuals as they work toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
