ALLOUEZ — For Amy Polster, Ph.D., director of Mental Health Counseling Services for Catholic Charities, integrating faith-based approaches into mental health is a helpful strategy for healing clients. A lifelong Catholic, she began working with Catholic Charities in February 2023.

They have come to this country looking for hope. Tens of thousands of Afghan refugees escaped terror and the Taliban rule. They are in the United States now to build their lives from the ground up. One Afghan refugee described his experiences in his own words, and how he is helping new Afghan evacuees adjust to life in Wisconsin.
Many Afghan Refugee families have been transported to Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, and an assortment of international, national, and local partners are on-hand to assist with care and processing, including the state’s Catholic Charities agencies.
Catholic Charities hosted a virtual gala on May 27, 2021, raising over $97,000 to provide vital services throughout the 16 counties of the Diocese of Green Bay.

All Catholic Charities services have virtual or phone appointments available! Services available via phone or virtual appointments include; adoption, parenting support, immigration, financial health, and mental health counseling. We do continue to offer limited in-person appointments.
