Catholic Charities is pleased to announce the newly formed Office of Social Ministry and Community Outreach. The purpose of this department is to promote the services and program offerings of Catholic Charities to harder to reach rural communities. The Office will focus on bringing services to rural areas (such as mental health support and training), working with parishes in times of crisis, and cooperating with other non-profit organizations in each county to build a network of crisis resources.
The Office of Social Ministry and Community Outreach Manager is Lori Paul. Lori has been working at the diocese for the past 4 years in the Office of Catholic Schools and brings a great deal of experience in strategic planning and community outreach. She will be synchronizing the work of the team as well as work with other diocesan staff. Jesse Brunette will now be Parish Outreach Coordinator. Jesse has been instrumental in collecting the initial data for this project. He will continue to work to identify the social, human service and crisis response needs of parishes.
We look forward to continuing to serve and respond to our parishes and communities. If you have any questions, I encourage you to reach out directly to a member of the team.
