Refugee Resettlement Services

Help Support Refugees

With the increases in the number of new families arriving, we are asking for help in obtaining basic needs like clothing, toiletries, and other items.

Donations made to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Green Bay will be used for general refugee resettlement services and support.

As a resettlement agency, Catholic Charities welcomes new refugees to the Green Bay area each year. This year, we will welcome 170 refugees from around the world. Refugees are a special classification of immigrants established by Congress executed by the United States Department of State Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration.

Upon arrival in Green Bay, Catholic Charities assists refugees with the following during their first 90 days;

  • Housing
  • Cultural orientation
  • Medical screening/accessing healthcare
  • Household items
  • Information & referral assistance for community programs
  • Education for children
  • English classes

Refugees often arrive with few belongings. To help set them up for success we provide them with needed household items. We are always accepting donations. For a list of needed items, please CLICK HERE.

We are always looking for more volunteers to help us welcome refugee newcomers! To learn more CLICK HERE.

Sample volunteer activities for refugee services:

  • Welcome new refugees at the airport with staff
  • Mentor for 3-6 months after arrival
