Our Team

In Matthew 25 we are called to welcome the stranger. Many individuals and families who entered the United States as refugees become engaged in our services to help them become self sufficient and thrive in their new community.

A refugee is a person who is forced to leave their home country due to war, persecution, or violence. They are often forced to leave on a moment’s notice. To gain status as a refugee, individuals receive this status by the determination of the US State Department. Catholic Charities is an affiliate resettlement agency for USCCB (United States Catholic Conference of Bishops), one of the few national organizations authorized by the US State Department to resettle refugees.

“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household.” - Ephesians 2:19

Learn More About What We Do

“Persecutions, wars, atmospheric phenomena and dire poverty are among the most visible causes of forced migrations today. Migrants flee because of poverty, fear or desperation. Eliminating these causes…calls for shared commitment on the part of all, in accordance with the responsibilities of each…. We need to make every effort to halt the arms race, economic colonialism, the plundering of other people’s resources and the devastation of our common home.” - Pope Francis
